Middletown holds off Northern York

Northern York led 9-7 after three quarters before Middletown battled back to eventually win 19-16, as the Polar Bears fell to 1-1 on the season.

Brady Fox scored three times for the Raiders, his first coming just 54 second before halftime to lift the hosts to a 7-0 lead at the break. His last two came with 8:50 and 4:46 remaining in the fourth quarter that put the Raiders ahead and then padded the lead.

In the fourth quarter after falling behind, Joey Razzano hauled in a 24-yard touchdown pass from Curtis Robinson to bring Northern to within three with 2:24 to play, but that's as close as they would come.

Fox finished with 15 carries for 87 yards and the three touchdowns for Middletown while Robinson led the Polar Bears with 111 passing yards.

Michael Kearney pulled the Polar Bears to within one early in the second half, scoring from 4 yards out. Jake Coover put the visitors ahead 9-7 with a 29-yard field goal 21 seconds before the end of the third quarter.
