Tuesday's field hockey roundup: Central York's Plappert nets OT winner against Red Lion

CENTRAL YORK 1, RED LION 0 (OT) >> Central York and Red Lion played through regulation without either team scoring. Finally, in overtime, Central snapped the scoreless draw when one of its top players, Greta Plappert, scored the winning goal. Kali Menendez was credited with the assist.

Central York goalie Abbie Timperio earned the shutout, but both Timperio and Red Lion's Jena Everett finished with six saves.

SPRING GROVE 1, DOVER 0 >> Morgan Hagerman scored at 22:47 of the first half, and it was enough as Spring Grove goalie Camille Lecrone made nine saves to earn the shutout victory. Despite holding an advantage in shots and corners, Spring Grove could not pull away from the Eagles as Dover's Valerie Talton made nine saves.

The Bobcats' Ashli Galtfelter tallied 16 saves.
