Entering the match, New Oxford was ranked 12th in the latest District 3 Class AAA power rankings, with the top 12 qualifying for the district team tournament. The Colonials strengthened their grip on the final spot with the convincing win.

Jonny Perez picked up a key singles victory at No. 2 singles, rallying for a 6-7 (7), 7-6 (6), 6-2 win against Jared Rosenberger.
