Thursday's boys' tennis roundup: Dallastown shuts out Spring Grove on the court


Here are Thursday's York/Adams boys' tennis results.

DALLASTOWN 7, SPRING GROVE 0 >> The Wildcats did not drop a match as they cruised to the road win over the Rockets.

Dallastown, which is No. 8 in the District 3 Class AAA team rankings, moves to 7-1 in Division I. Division leader South Western (7-0) faces Central York (6-1) today, and if the Panthers win, it will create a three-way tie for first.

BERMUDIAN SPRINGS 4, GETTYSBURG 3 >> Luke Wilkins and Haoza Phutaemnin teamed up in the No. 1 doubles match for a win to clinch the match for the Eagles.

The duo opened the set against Zach Kiick and Jesse Hsu with a 6-2 win, Hsu and Kiick rebounded with a win 6-4 win in the second. In the super tie break, Wilkins and Phutaemnin outlasted their opponents for the 11-9 win.

In the No. 2. doubles match, Gettysburg's Drew Riggle and Justin Smith teamed up to take down Bailey Hoak and Tate Myers. Riggle and Smith won the first set 6-3, then lost the second 5-7 and in the super tie break they earned a hard fought 13-11 win.

The two teams also completed a previous match, in which only the No. 2 doubles match needed completion. Gettysburg forfeited the remainder of the match give Bermudian the 4-3 win.

WEST YORK 5, NORTHEASTERN 2 >> Although Logan Fries scored a win at No. 1 for the host Bobcats, the Bulldogs swept the next four singles matches en route to victory.

Jared Potts, Ben Fairlamb, Aidan Mikula and Noah Sanderson all won straight-set decisions for West York.
