Thursday's boys' tennis roundup: York Suburban, Central York dominate in wins

York Suburban and Central York swept their way to 7-0 victories in Thursday's YAIAA boys' tennis action, with both teams winning every match in straight sets.

Suburban's top three singles players, Elliot Diehl, Michael Peck and Ben Strine, didn't give up a game in the Trojans' win against Littlestown. Tyr Abendschoen and Cooper Lando combined to drop just three games in their victories.

Central's win against Northeastern was similarly dominant, as no Panthers player dropped more than four games. Austin Pokopec and Corey Caskey won by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

In other boys' tennis action, Bermudian Springs dropped a tough 4-3 non-league decision to Camp Hill. The Lions took a 3-2 lead through singles play. Bermudian's Bailey Hoak and Tate Myers battled Tyler Myers and William Myers to a super tiebreaker, winning 6-2, 4-6, (10-5) to gain a third point for the team, but Luke Wilkins and Haoza Phutaemnin fell to Paxton Fitzpatrick and Spencer Landis, 6-0, 6-0. ... New Oxford's Justin Klunk and Adam Rudasill helped seal a 4-1 non-league win against Northern York. In their first set, Klunk and Rudasill just edged out Eric Wenrich and Austin Krause 7-5, and they went to a second-set tiebreaker before earning a 7-6 (5) victory. ... Red Lion dropped just three games in singles play to beat Dover, 6-1. ... Gettysburg's Jesse Hsu battled to a three-set win against Hanover's Cam Bosserman at No. 2 singles, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3, to help the Warriors win the match, 6-1. ... Dallastown swept West York, 7-0. In the most competitive match of the day, Tyler Lilie of Dallastown defeated Josiah Burke 6-4, 7-5.
