District 3 roundup: Central falls; Biglerville to title game

Central York lost 1-0 in double overtime to Elizabethtown in the semifinals of the District 3 Class 4A boys' soccer semifinals on Tuesday night.

Central will now play Cumberland Valley on Saturday in the consolation round. The winner will qualify for the state tournament, while the loser will go home.

Central York head coach Frank Lenno said his team controlled "probably 80 percent of the game" against Elizabethtown but just couldn't find the back of the next. He said Elizabethtown scored the game-winning goal with about five minutes remaining in the second overtime period.

"Hats off to them for finding a ball," Lenno said. "But our guys know they let one slip through their hands."
