The New Oxford boys' basketball beat Waynesboro, 62-52, on Thursday to stay alive in the District 3 Class 5A tournament ninth-place bracket, which will send the top two finishers to the state tournament.

The Colonials will take on Shippensburg in the ninth-place semifinal at 5 p.m. Monday at East Pennsboro. The winner will earn a spot in the state tournament.

Dover, however, saw its season come to an end in that same consolation bracket. The Eagles lost to Garden Spot, 65-43, ending their season with a 14-11 record.

In other action, both the Eastern York and Littlestown boys were knocked out of the championship bracket in Class 4A, although both are still alive in the fifth-place consolation bracket. Only the fifth-place finisher will reach states.

Eastern fell to Middletown, 74-62. The Knights will play Schuylkill Valley at 8 p.m. Monday at Milton Hershey.

Littlestown lost a rout to Bishop McDevitt, 64-23. The Thunderbolts will play Susquehanna Township at 6:30 p.m. Monday at East Pennsboro.
