Central York used a strong third quarter to break open a tight game cruise past Dover 69-52 in a YAIAA boys' basketball tournament quarterfinal on Saturday night at Fitzkee Athletic Center in Red Lion.

The victory sets up a rubber match with Spring Grove, who defeated Delone Catholic, 64-42, in another quarterfinal at Red Lion. The Panthers and Rockets each took one of their regular-season matchups. It will be the seventh time that the teams have met in the past two years.

"It'll be a match up of two teams that know each other well, that's for sure," Central coach Kevin Schieler said. "We'll be facing Eli Brooks for the 11th time on Tuesday."

Saturday's game was level at 28 at intermission. The Panthers committed to getting the ball inside to post players Niko Sobestanovich and Evan Czulada and it paid of with 14 of their 19 points in the third quarter.

Central (16-7) also buckled down defensively and led 47-37 heading into the final stanza.

"We didn't execute well defensively in the first half," Schieler said. "We let them get the ball to their strong hand too often and gave them too many open looks. You can't do that against them, they shoot the ball too well."

Garrett Markey paced the winners with 15 points and Sobestanovich tossed in 14 to go with seven boards.

Dover (14-9) was led by 20 points from Keith Davis.
