Roundup: Central York falls by 2 in title game


Central York lost a tight-contest 59-57 game to Lancaster Catholic in the Penn Manor tip-off championship on Saturday.

The Panthers beat Solanco 72-34 to open tournament play Friday night.

"We obviously want to win the tournament," head coach Kevin Schieler said following Saturday's title game. "Lancaster Catholic is a very good team. We can take away the fact that one or two minor fixes and the results could have been better."

Courtney Batts led Central York with 20 points. Garrett Markey was the other Panther in double digits with 11 while Landyn Ray added nine.

Lancaster Catholic got 12 points apiece from RJ Van Tash and Sean Landis.

Bermudian Springs tournament 

Camp Hill 78, Dover 73: Dover's second-half comeback attempt fell short in a championship game defeat to Camp Hill on Saturday.

The Eagles trailed 38-14 at intermission but made a second-half run. Dover outscored Camp Hill 29-23 in the third quarter and 30-17 in the fourth but couldn't get over the hump.

Brady Bowman scored 30 points for Dover while Keith Davis added 21.

Zack Kuntz led Camp HIll with 21 points.

Biglerville tournament

Big Spring 69, Biglerville 57: Biglerville led by one at halftime but couldn't hang on in the final two quarters.

The  Canners got 16 points from Cody Shaffer, 15 from Gavin Parker and 11 from Drew Riley.

Hanover tournament 

Columbia 75, Hanover 49: Columbia won handily in Saturday night's tournament championship.

Hunter Martz led the Nighthawks with 17 points. Kyle Bowman added nine.
