Dallastown heats up after halftime again to down Suburban
Two games into the season, the Dallastown boys' basketball team has proven to be a very good second-half team.
On Friday night, the Wildcats outscored Central Dauphin by 21 points over the final 16 minutes of a 19-point win.
Saturday's game against York Suburban unfolded in very similar fashion for the Wildcats.
Dallastown held a five-point halftime lead, but quickly ran the margin to double digits during the third quarter en route to a 64-41 victory.
Dallastown (2-0) outscored Suburban (0-1) 35-17 during the second half.
"I love our effort, now we just have to play smarter. I thought we made some steps towards that tonight in the second half and made some steps towards that Friday night in the second half," Dallastown head coach Mike Grassel said. "We were shooting ourselves in the foot in the first half Friday and tonight."
Da'Trail Albert, Donovan Catchings and Braden Caldwell all finished in double figures for the Wildcats. Justin Atwood came off the bench and finished with three blocks.
Suburban was led by Sincere Dowling's 14 points. 12 of his 14 points came via the 3-pointer.
For Suburban, the game marked the return of Tom Triggs as head coach.
"It's a lot of fun. It's a great group of kids," Triggs said. "They work hard. The schemes are brand new for them."
