Eli Brooks may be heading to the University of Michigan this summer, but he brought a bit of Michigan to Spring Grove on Tuesday afternoon.

Wolverines coach John Beilein, who has been to 10 NCAA Tournaments and coached Michigan to the NCAA championship game in 2013, stopped in Spring Grove on Wednesday afternoon. He watched Brooks, the Rockets senior point guard who committed to play for the Wolverines in July, run through an hour-and-15-minute practice in the Spring Grove High School gymnasium as part of a tour to visit several of his recruits.

"It means a lot that he does that," Brooks said. "I already knew Coach B is very personable, that's one of the reasons why Michigan was a fit for me."

While Beilein came mainly to see Brooks, he also spoke and took pictures with several staff members that approached him during his time in the school.

“He's a very nice guy," Spring Grove Athletic Director Greg Wagner said. "There were obviously a ton of people excited that the head coach from Michigan was here. He was very gracious with his time.”
