Morgan becomes Bearcats top scorer


Montrel Morgan scored his 1,452nd career point in the fourth quarter Saturday, breaking Kelvin Parker’s school record of 1,451 in the Bearcats' 73-70 loss to Capitol Christian. Morgan finished with 19 points, bringing his career total to 1,456.

The visitors had six players reach double figures, led by Fred Rowles with 13. Three others, Jasper Sterling, Keron Green and Judah Jordan, each had 11 points as they jumped out to a 56-46 lead after three quarters with a 25-17 third quarter run.

Jacquez Casiano also hit double-digits for William Penn, scoring 18 points while Kristopher Johnson added 16.

Spring Grove 67, Delone Catholic 33: The Rockets jumped out to a 30-0 lead after one quarter, as the team knocked down six 3-pointers.

Eli Brooks led the way with 22 points, scoring 14 of those in the first quarter. In the second quarter, it was "The Darin Gordon Show" as he dropped 13 of his 19 points and in the process eclipsed 1,000 points for his career.

The Squires received a team-high 11 points from Logan Alexander.

Darian McCauley, Josh Bailey and Kenton Meckley led the visitors with a combined 44 points with McCauley pouring in 17, Bailey 15 and Meckley chipping in with 12.

The Warriors received 16 points from Josh Stoneberg.
