Boys' roundup: Mears helps Suburban pull away


Donovan Mears scored 16 points, leading York Suburban to a 50-46 victory against Dover in Thursday's YAIAA boys' basketball action.

Mears scored 11 of his 16 in the second half to help the visitors, who led by just a point at the half. Teammate Chey Carter added 14 points.

Jerry O’Neal was the lone Eagle in double figures, scoring 12 of his 14 points in the second half to keep the Eagles within striking distance.

Dallastown 51, South Western 37: Da’Trail Albert, Mike Diaz, Brandon McGlynn and Aaron Ward combined for 17 third-quarter points, pushing the Wildcats' one-point halftime lead into a 37-24 advantage in their victory against the Mustangs.

Albert and Diaz each finished with 12 points while McGlynn and Ward had 11 and 10, respectively. The Mustangs received a team-high nine points from Brock Geiman on three 3-pointers.

Susquehannock 68, Kennard-Dale 53: Two nights after Kennard-Dale's Kyle Wooldridge went for 40 points, his teammate Adam Freese dropped 33 points, but it wasn't enough to get past the Warriors. Susquehannock's Josh Stoneberg led a balanced attack with 16 points in the Warrior's victory.

Along with Stoneberg, Nick Tannura and Jordan McMillion went for 10 apiece and Adam Hedgeland added 13 points.
