Two York County basketball players — Spring Grove’s Eli Brooks and York Catholic’s Kate Bauhof — are finalists for voting in the Miss and Mr. Pennsylvania Basketball Awards.

Bauhof is one of six finalists for the Miss Pennsylvania Basketball. The junior is coming off a season where she led her team to a District 3 title and an appearance in a state semifinal, losing to eventual champion Neumann-Goretti. The girls' side has been dominated by District 3 players, with Camp Hill's Diamond Bragg, Cumberland Valley's Katie Jekot and Greencastle-Antrim's Jenay Faulkner each earning finalist spots with Bauhof.

In the Mr. Basketball voting, Brooks was one of three finalists from District 3. The group also includes Carlisle's Deshawn Millington and Reading's Lonnie Walker.

Voting is currently taking place at the website pabball.com. The girls' and boys' voting deadline is May 22.

Bauhof, a junior, averaged about 20 points per game last year and drilled 60 3-pointers. She will begin her senior season with more than 1,300 career points.

Brooks, a senior and Michigan commit, averaged just under 30 points and crossed 2,000 points in his career this winter.

Loyola offers Rizzuto

Northeastern junior Antonio Rizzuto earned another scholarship offer from an NCAA Division I program Monday.

Loyola (Md.) offered Rizzuto Monday.

The explosive guard, who rattled the rim with several postseason dunks also knocked down more than 100 3-pointers during the Bobcats run to a Class 5A state semifinal, has several scholarship offers on the table already. Albany, Columbia, High Point, Mount St. Mary's, NJIT and Stony Brook have offered Rizzuto scholarships. Other programs remain in the mix, perhaps most notably St. Joseph's.

Longtime Hawks coach Phil Martelli attended Northeastern playoff games to scout Rizzuto, asking the junior to point out his parents after Northeastern knocked off Archbishop Carroll in double overtime in state tournament action.

Martin earns first DI offer

Melik Martin, who at one point expected to attend Division II Lincoln next season, now has a Division I scholarship offer on the table.

Duquesne University, located in Pittsburgh, offered the York Catholic senior last week.

The best big man in the YAIAA last season, Martin would need to switch positions at the next level. But during the season he displayed his ability to knock down jumpers as well as drive the paint from the high post while helping the Irish reach the state tournament.
