The Littlestown boys and Dover girls both qualified for the final two spots in this weekend's YAIAA basketball tournaments, according to league basketball chairperson Marty Trimmer.

The top-three teams from Division I and the top-two teams from Division II and Division III each received automatic bids into the respective tournaments. The eighth and final spots were decided by the third place team in either Division II or Division III, based off of best overall District 3 power rating. The Littlestown boys had a power rating of .5773 while the Dover girls had a rating of .6861.

Both teams have enjoyed bounce-back seasons. The Dover girls' team went 6-16 last season and the Littlestown boys' went 7-15. It's also Littlestown's first appearance in the league tournament.

The basketball postseason begins this week when the YAIAA tournaments open with quarterfinals Friday and Saturday.
