Spring Grove boys, CSY girls finish third


Eli Brooks scored 24 points, and Darin Gordon added 19 to lead Spring Grove to a 54-37 victory against Wilson in the third-place game in the District 3 Class AAAA tournament.

The Rockets will enter the PIAA tournament with a record of 25-3 and will face the fifth place team out of District 1, either Spring-Ford or Central Bucks West, on Saturday, March 5 at a site and time to be determined.

The Rockets jumped out to a 12-0 lead after one quarter, a lead that later ballooned to 30-10 at the half. Christian Sload led Wilson with 12 points.

Girls' basketball

Northern Lebanon 41, York Suburban 33: The Vikings took the District 3 Class AAA fifth-place game with the win over the Trojans at Warwick.

Zoe Zerman led the way for Northern Lebanon with 16 points, and Megan Brandt chipped in with 11.

York Suburban’s Ali Reinecker and Molly Day each had nine points.

The Trojans will face the winner of Southern Lehigh vs. Bethlehem Catholic on Saturday, March 5, site and time to be determined.

Christian School of York 36, Harrisburg Academy 24: Kendis Butler and Bailey Stauffer paced the Crusader offense to the third-place finish in the District 3 Class A tournament.

Stauffer dropped in 13 points, while Butler added 10. Harrisburg Academy was led by Lauren Mowery with 14 points.

The Crusaders will face the winner of North Penn Mansfield vs. Lourdes on Saturday, March 5, site and time to be determined.
