Gettysburg's Ethan Ketterman singled home Michael Fortney with one down in the bottom of the seventh to push the Warriors to a 9-8 victory over visiting Northeastern in YAIAA Division II baseball action Wednesday afternoon.

The walk-off win pushed Gettysburg's winning streak to five straight to start the season.

"I told myself that I had to put the ball in the air and try to stay out of the double play," Ketterman said. "I was sitting on fastball and got one."

Warrior starter Logan Carbaugh struggled to find his footing in the first two innings and allowed seven runs and six hits as the visitors carried a 7-4 lead into the third inning.

In the third, Carbaugh found the feel for his curve ball and that helped him to retire 11 of the last 12 batters that he faced.

"Northeastern can hit the ball and Logan was leaving pitches up early in the game and he paid for it," Gettysburg coach Ryan Brady said. "He finally got loose in the third inning. His curve got really sharp and their hitters were chasing it."

Gettysburg (5-0, 5-0) plated four runs in the fourth to take an 8-7 lead and the game stayed that way until the seventh.

That's when the Bobcats tied it when Mason Kling came home on a wild pitch.

The Warriors' 15-hit attack was paced by a trio of hits each from Carbaugh, Ketterman and Michael Tempel.

For Northeastern, Hayden Seifert had three hits and pilfered three bags.
