Christian School of York wins CCAC baseball title

Christian School of York won its first CCAC championship with a 6-1 victory against Lancaster County Christian on Thursday.

Ben Bills struck out seven in a complete-game effort, scattering seven hits but giving up just one run.

The victory was a rematch of a game last month that the Crusaders had to forfeit because of a pitching eligibility issue. That was the Crusaders' first loss of the season.

Both teams now turn their attention to the District 3 Class A tournament. At 11-2 on the season, Christian School of York is the No. 3 seed and will play Conestoga Christian in the first round at 4:30 p.m. Monday at In The Net in Palmyra. Top-seeded Lancaster County Christian (11-4) plays No. 8 High Point Baptist.

The teams are in opposite sides of the bracket, so a potential third clash between them on the season wouldn't come until the title game.
