YAIAA top perfomers, April 6

On another chilly April afternoon, Riley Hamberger was hot on the mound as the senior threw a no-hitter in Dallastown's 10-0 six-inning win over South Western.

Hamberger kept the Mustangs off balance with 11 strikeouts, pushing his season total to 21, tops in the YAIAA. The win is his second of the season.

Walk-off winners

In softball we had two games end in dramatic fashion as Spring Grove and Dallastown secured walk-off wins to kick off Division I play.

Spring Grove's Bryn Sporer singled in the eight inning to give the Rockets a 3-2 win over New Oxford. ...Krista Flemmens singled in the eighth inning to score Mel Grant and lift the Wildcats to the 8-7 win over South Western.

Here is a look at other top performers from around the YAIAA.

Softball

Not to be over shadowed by Hamberger, Fairfield's Courtney Harbaugh dominated Hanover batters from the pitching circle with 10 strikeouts and a walk in the Green Knights' 12-2 win.

Her teammate, Ryleigh Boyland, pounded two home runs as she went 3-for-5 from the plate with two RBIs. Harbaugh also had a home run for Fairfield.

New Oxford's Alanna Molz struck out 13 Spring Grove batters in the Colonials' 3-2 loss.

Baseball

Last but not least, Biglerville's Hunter Kime had three hits, including a double, with four RBIs in the Canners' three-inning, 15-0 win over York County Tech.
