Friday's baseball roundup: Sprenkle-Latshaw combo rattles off seven hits in Northeastern win

NORTHEASTERN 9, EASTERN YORK 2 >> Nick Sprenkle and Jonah Latshaw combined to go 7-for-7 at the top of the Bobcats lineup, production that was more than enough for starter Brady Dolan.

Sprenkle was 4-for-4 and Latshaw 3-for-3 with a walk. Both players scored twice and drove in a run each, helping Northeastern jump out to a 4-0 lead after two innings, which increased to 6-0 advantage after four and 9-0 after six.

Brayton Bare also had three hits and an RBI in support of Dolan, who allowed only two hits and no runs in his six innings of work.

Kyle Billet had two hits and a run scored for the Golden Knights.

BIG SPRING 3, DOVER 1 >> Cross Copenhaver knocked in the go-ahead run with an RBI triple in the fourth, then scored on a passed ball to lead Big Spring over Dover. Bulldogs' pitcher Lowell Singer pitched well, striking out seven.

Austin Jewitt doubled for the host Eagles while Trevor Staub and Josh Spirito kept the damage to a minimum on the mound, allowing just three runs on five hits.

LITTLESTOWN 11, HANOVER 1 (F/5) >> Brady Topper had a double and two walks, scoring twice and driving in a run to lead the Thunderbolts to the home win.

Jacob Beal pitched a complete-game with three strikeouts and two walks. Hanover's Isaac Silver was saddled with the loss, but had one of his team's three hits.

Hanover walked 12 Littlestown batters on the day.
