Watch: Coppersmith leads Central to YAIAA title
Check out highlights from Central York's 8-1 league title win over Kennard-Dale at New Oxford High School on Wednesday. Central pitcher Courtney Coppersmith struck out 12 batters and walked none while giving up three hits.
Eight baseball teams and 10 softball teams from the YAIAA qualified for the District 3 tournaments, which begin next week.
Here's a rundown of the first-round matchups.

Baseball
Class 6A
- No. 2 Dallastown (15-4) received a bye into the quarterfinals. On Thursday, the Wildcats will host the winner of No. 7 Cumberland Valley (13-7) vs. No. 10 Manheim Township (11-9).
- No. 9 Red Lion (13-6) will travel to No. 8 Central Dauphin (12-7) at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Class 5A
- No. 14 Gettysburg (13-6) travels to No. 3 Cedar Cliff (15-5) at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Class 4A
- No. 2 Susquehannock (16-4) received a first-round bye. The Warriors await the winner of Monday's first-round game between No. 10 West York (10-10) and No. 7 ELCO (15-5). That game is at 4:30 p.m. at ELCO.
- No. 6 Kennard-Dale (15-3) also received a first-round bye. The Rams take on No. 3 Berks Catholic (14-2) at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the quarterfinals.
Class 3A
- No. 5 Biglerville (10-9) travels to No. 4 Susquenita (12-7) at 4:30 p.m. Monday for a first-round matchup.
Class 2A
- No. 2 York Catholic (10-7) travels to Fredericksburg at 4 p.m. to play No. 3 Kutztown (11-9) at Wenger Field.
Class 1A
- It's not a YAIAA team, but Christian School of York (9-4) snagged the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 Conestoga Christian (5-7) at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Softball
Class 6A
- No. 2 Central York (19-1) earned a first-round bye and awaits the winner of Tuesday's first-round game between No. 10 Dallastown (11-8) and No. 7 Warwick (13-6). Those teams play at 4:30 p.m. at Warwick.
Class 5A
- No. 5 Spring Grove (15-5) hosts No. 12 Garden Spot (11-8) at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
- No. 13 New Oxford (12-8) travels to No. 4 Lower Dauphin (16-3) at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Class 4A
- No. 2 Kennard-Dale (14-2) will open in the quarterfinals at home Thursday against the winner of a play-in game between No. 10 West York (8-12) and No. 7 Northern Lebanon (12-8). That game is at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Northern Lebanon.
- No. 4 Eastern York (14-5) hosts No. 5 Bishop McDevitt (13-7) at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in a quarterfinal.
Class 3A
- No. 4 Delone Catholic (13-4) hosts No. 5 Tulpehocken (14-6) in the first round at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Class 2A
- No. 2 Fairfield (11-7) hosts No. 3 York Catholic (8-9) in a first-round semifinal at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
