York Tech wrestlers earn rare victory

For the first time in a long time, the York County Tech Spartans wrestling team was on the winning end of a dual with Biglerville thanks to Zach Hagarman's fall in 1:49 in the final bout of the evening. The fall gave the Spartans a 36-30 home victory over the Canners.

During the course of the match, the Spartans overcame holes of 24-12 and 30-21.

George Ellenberger opened the match at 195 with a fall in 29 seconds for the hosts before the Canners' Brent Haynes countered with a fall of his own at 220.

The teams again traded falls at 285 and 106 pounds. After a pair of forfeits at 113 and 120, the Spartans found themselves in a 24-12 hole.

They eventually pulled within 24-21 with Travis Kreiser's first-period fall at 138, only to have the Canners' Brandon Miller push the lead back to nine with a fall in 1:54.

At 170 pounds, York County Tech's Tyler Enfield picked up a come-from-behind 8-7 victory to tie the match at 30, setting the stage for Hagarman's heroics.
