YAIAA top performers May 10: Eastern baseball wins division


Eastern York's Brandon Knarr took top-performer honors, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs in the Golden Knights' 13-3 win against York Suburban on Tuesday.

The Knights clinched the YAIAA Division III title outright with the win.

Colby Shimmel assisted Knarr, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs in Eastern's win.

Baseball

York Catholic’s Dillon Hippensteel went 3-for-3 from the plate with a double, two runs scored and four RBIs in the Fighting Irish’s 14-4 win in six innings. Matt Knauer added a double and a triple for York Cathoilc with three RBIs and two runs scored. The win gave the Fighting Irish the Division IV title.

Softball

Maggie Rickrode went 3-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs scored and four RBIs in Delone Catholic's 13-0 win against York County Tech. ... Dover’s Natalie Cutright went 4-for-4 from the plate with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored in the 11-3 win over West York.

Boys' lacrosse

Eli Doyle scored five times in York Catholic's 14-8 win over Central York. The Fighting Irish advance to Thursday's YAIAA championship match. ...Jac Gemmill scored three goals and added two assists as Red Lion advanced to the YAIAA championship with a 12-9 win over Susquehannock.

Girls' lacrosse

Anna Linthicum scored five goals and added two assists, lifting York Catholic to the YAIAA championship game with a 16-4 win over Red Lion. ... Kennard-Dale's Morgan Bowings scored five goals to lead the Rams into the YAIAA final with a 13-8 win over Susquehannock.

Boys' volleyball

Northeastern clinched share of YAIAA regular season title with a sweep of West York. ... Kennard-Dale's Josiah McConville had six aces, 40 assists, four blocks, 11 digs and six kills in the Rams loss to Spring Grove. The Rockets won in five sets.
