YAIAA top performers, May 5


Cassie Rickrode put in another stellar performance from the pitching circle for Delone Catholic, striking out eight Biglerville batters in a 9-0 win. With the victory, the Squirettes clinched the YAIAA Division IV title.

Here is a look at Thursday's other top performers from around the YAIAA:

Girls' lacrosse

Maddie Day and Emmie Dressel each scored four goals in Kennard-Dale's 17-6 dismantling of Susquehannock. Dressel also had three assists and Day added two. ... Red Lion's Emily Robbins dished out six assists to go with two goals in the Lions' road victory against Conestoga Christian, 19-4. Peyton Shima added a hat trick and four assists for Red Lion. ... Central York's Addy Billings scored seven goals, and Alexa Glatfelter added six in the Panthers' 18-14 win against Trinity.

Track and field

Boys: Littlestown clinched a share of the Division III title behind the performance of Jackson Hornbrook, who won the 200- and 400-meter races and anchored the victorious 400 relay team. The Thunderbolts will share the division title with York County Tech.

Girls: Biglerville's Ali Serro won the triple jump, long jump and high jump, while Baylee Robey took first in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200. The Canners won the meet, 78.5-67.5, against Littlestown.


Boys' volleyball

Reese Devilbiss recorded 19 kills in Northeastern's sweep of Susquehannock. The three-time defending PIAA champion Bobcats remain unbeaten in regular-season non-tournament play. ... Central York's Hayden Wagner smashed 17 kills in the Panthers' sweep of Kennard-Dale. ... New Oxford's John Wessel had 12 kills and nine blocks in the Colonials' 3-1 win against Spring Grove. Teammate Alex Neiderer added 14 kills, while Brady Staub posted 21 digs and 10 kills. The Rockets were led by Dakota Parker with 11 kills and 10 digs. ... Ben Ward served up six aces and had eight kills in Dallastown's sweep of West York. Aaron Ward chipped in with 12 kills and two aces for the Wildcats. As a team, Dallastown had a total of 16 aces. ... Jack Schultz registered 12 kills and seven blocks in York Suburban's sweep of Eastern York.

Softball

Hanover's Sara Durika struck out seven batters in the Hawkettes' 5-1 win against York County Tech.

Boys' lacrosse

Central York's T.J. Ross scored six goals, three of which came in the final quarter, as the Panthers took down Trinity at home.
