YAIAA top performers, May 3


Eli Doyle scored four goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lift York Catholic's boys' lacrosse team over Central York 14-13. With the win, the Fighting Irish clinched a share of the league title.

Here is a look at other top performers from around the YAIAA on Tuesday night:

It's a clinch

Also clinching a share of the boys' lacrosse title was Red Lion with a 15-2 win over South Western. Jac Gemmill led the Lions with four goals and four assists, while his teammate Sam Emig added five goals and two assists.

York Catholic's girls' lacrosse team earned the YAIAA league title as they polished off the Central York 17-2.

In boys' track and field, Edgar Centeno won the long jump and triple jump to lead Dallastown over Red Lion 96-54 in the battle of unbeatens to seal the Division I title for the Wildcats.

Littlestown's softball team clinched a share of the Division III title with their win over Kennard-Dale 5-4.

Baseball

Tad Pequignot went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Dover's 5-4 win over York Suburban. Trey Neiman added two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles.

Girls' track and field

McCayla Welsh, D'Shanna Edwards and Katie MacDougall each won three events to lead York County Tech to the a 106-44 win over Littlestown. Welsh finished first in the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump, while Edwards won the javelin, shot put and discuss. MacDougal took the 1,600, 800 and 3,200.

Boys' tennis

York Catholic's doubles duo of Nicholas Gingerich and Mason Elliott upset the No. 3 seed team of Brett Gill and Brandon Stuab of Littlestown in the quarterfinals of the YAIAA Class AA doubles tournament.

Girls' lacrosse

Susquehannock's Rachel Marshner and Gena Speights each scored seven goals as the Warriors demolished the Dallastown 24-9. ... Eastern York's Rylie Toomey scored five goals in the Golden Knights 15-8 win over Spring Grove. The Rockets' Jordyn Miller had five goals in the loss. ...New Oxford's Braxtin Reddinger scored seven goals and dished out three assists in the Colonials' 28-2 win over Harrisburg Christian. Her teammate Raleigh Bateman added seven goals and three assists, while Bri Smith added four goals and four assists.

Boys' track and field

Central York's Brandon Falkenstein is the first YAIAA runner to clock a time under 40 seconds in the 300 hurdles as he crossed the finish line at the 39.9 mark. ...Kole Shenberger won the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump to push York County Tech into a three-way tie atop Division III after a tie-breaker win over Littlestown. ... West York's Luke Hoffman broke his own school record in the discus with a distance of 164-3.

Boys' volleyball

Dallastown's Aaron Ward crushed 32 kills and recorded 29 digs, but it wasn't enough as York Suburban downed the Wildcats 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 28-30, 25-20). His setter Peyton Ranck dished out 52 assists in the loss. ...Kyle Wooldridge was a brick wall at the net, as he made 10 blocks to go with 12 kills in Kennard-Dale's sweep of Dover. Teammate Josiah McConville added three aces, 28 assists, eight blocks and five kills. ...Quinlan Kauffman had 16 kills and 13 digs in Susquehannocks sweep over New Oxford.

Boys' lacrosse

Eastern York's Brian Lehman scored six goals in his team's 13-9 win over Spring Grove. Dominick Particelli chipped in with four goals and two assists for the Golden Knights.
