YAIAA top performers, April 8


Gettysburg's Taylor Mummert drilled two home runs in an eight-run fourth in the Warriors' 24-5 win against Hanover in five innings on Friday, headlining the day's top YAIAA performers.

Mummert up with a triple in the fifth. She finished the game with four hits in five plate appearances, four runs scored and five RBIs.

Team of the night

The Bermudian Springs softball team jumped all over Camp Hill's pitching in the second inning as they scored all 17 of their runs in the home half of the frame on the way to a 17-0, three-inning victory.

Boys' volleyball

Northeastern's Reese Devilbiss snapped 19 kills, while setter Matt Schaeffer handed out 42 assists as the Bobcats swept state-ranked Pennsbury, 25-23, 25-15, 25-22, on the road. Pennsbury is ranked No. 5 in Class AAA.

Girls' lacrosse

Dallastown's Danni Dubois scored four goals, including the overtime winner with 11 seconds remaining, in Dallastown's 8-7 win against Spring Grove. Dubois also dished out two assists. ...York Suburban's Bailey Cross scored four goals and had two assists as the Trojans downed Mechanicsburg, 15-3. ...Kennard-Dale's Maddie Day had another strong game for the Rams with four goals and an assist in the 16-5 win against Cumberland Valley. Hannah Bracey chipped in with a hat trick and two assists for Kennard-Dale, while Emmie Dressel added two goals and three assists.

Softball

Central York's Rachel Butler racked up 13 strikeouts while giving up just two hits in the Panthers 11-0 win against Eastern York. She also did some damage from the plate with a triple, home run and two RBIs. ...Kaitlin Yealy went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs in Littlestown's 16-0 win in four innings over the Canners. ... Dover's Taylor Lamparter was perfect in three trips to the plate with three RBIs, and Cierra Hockensmith was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two steals in the Eagles' 15-0, three-inning shutout of Northern.

Baseball

Northeastern's Adam Kipp went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the Bobcats 13-3 win in five innings against Red Land. ... Noah Ayers went 2-for-3 for Biglerville with two doubles and two RBIs in the Canners' 9-3 win vs. Littlestown. He took the mound in the sixth inning and registered two strikeouts over the final two innings for the win.

Boys' lacrosse 

Central York's T.J. Ross scored seven goals and dished out two assists as the Panthers crushed South Western, 19-3. Katon Yantek had his hand in 10 of Central's goals, scoring six and assisting on four. ... York Catholic's Eddie Smith came away with four goals and an assist in the Fighting Irish's 12-5 win against Twin Valley.
