Sprenkle: GameTimePA's spring coverage outlook
The arrival of spring inevitably conjures images of new beginnings, opening up the windows and basking in those first few rays of warm sunshine.
Of stretching your legs and finally getting started on the new year's resolutions that were buried under 30 inches of snow.
Of looking forward to the future.
That's true for GameTimePA.com, the York Daily Record and The Evening Sun, which will recalibrate our coverage of high school sports this spring.
We're evolving. And we're doing it with our sights set on the future. We constantly adjust our coverage to meet the needs of an ever-changing audience, which we serve in more ways, on more platforms than ever before.
We're not satisfied with just keeping up with the pack: We want to set the pace.
So high school sports coverage will look a little different in the York Daily Record and The Evening Sun.
We'll be focusing more on stories with lasting value: Analysis, features, issue and trend stories and watchdog reporting.
We'll cover games in a different way, with a lean toward telling you why something is important instead of simply that it happened.
You’ll see lots of photos from local events, and the daily list of high school scores will help you keep up with what’s happening.
Meanwhile online, GameTimePA.com will continue to provide in-depth live game coverage, from our live scoreboard to our team of reporters providing multimedia updates in real time on social media.
All box scores will be available at GameTimePA.com, along with standings from around the league, game stories, analysis, preview, features, slideshows and videos.
Those online offerings will be available to you earlier, too, so you can get a complete look at the day's action before you go to bed at night.
It's a new beginning for our sports coverage, and we're confident that these changes will result in a better product.
Besides, what better time to start a new chapter than spring?
