NL's Luke Funck eliminated at FLONationals


INDIANA, Pa – A memorable season for Northern Lebanon’s Luke Funck has officially come to an end. The Vikings junior wrestler was eliminated from the FLONational Tournament on Friday, after losing in the second round of the consolations.

Funck’s loss in the second round of the consolations came at the hands of New York’s Evan Frank in a 6-2 decision. Funck started the day with an 8-3 decision over Alexander Melikian, also of New York. Both bouts were tough matchups for Funck, with both his opponents seeded higher than him in the rankings at 182 to start the tournament. Melikian came into the tournament ranked 11th at 182, while Frank came in ranked 13th. Funck came in ranked 14th.

Funck finished his junior season for the Vikings as a district and regional champion at 182, and as a fourth-place finisher at 182 in the PIAA Class AA Tournament.
