Cedar Crest's Seyfert honored with Mini Max award

Tate Seyfert had an excellent senior football season for Cedar Crest this fall. And if anyone doubted that, the Maxwell Club eliminated all of it on Thursday.

The Falcons' standout wide receiver/defensive was honored Thursday as one of 62 winners from across Pennsylvania of the 2016 Mini Max High School Award, given annually to football players from District 1, 3, 11 and 12 in the eastern half of the state. Players are nominated by their coaches and selected for the honor based on criteria that includes football performance, academics and community service.

Seyfert is now eligible for the Maxwell Club's Pennsylvania High School Player of the Year award, which will be announced on Jan. 8. All of the Mini Max honorees will be recognized at a dinner on Jan. 12 at the Drexelbrook Catering Ballroom in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. The awards dinner is open to the public and tickets are available at maxwellfootballclub.org beginning on Friday.
