Falcons shut out at CV


A Gianna Yurchak goal in the 25th minute was the difference Tuesday at Conestoga Valley, where the Cedar Crest girls' soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision in its final regular-season road game. Desiree Leffler made nine stops against 10 Bucksin shots, while the Falcons mustered four attempts on net of their own. Cedar Crest sits at 8-6-3 overall and 5-5-1 now in Section One play.

The Falcons will welcome McCaskey on Thursday at 7 p.m. in their season finale.

Boys' soccer

CONESTOGA VALLEY 3, CEDAR CREST 0>> Two first-half goals put the Buckskins on top early and they added another post-intermission in a shutout win at Cedar Crest. The Falcons totaled eight shots, while Jake Beard recorded 13 saves.

SUSQUEHANNA TWP. 2, PALMYRA 0>> The Cougars dropped their third straight and sixth of their last seven in a tough decision at Susquehanna Township. Tanner Yaw posted eight saves leading up to Palmyra's home finale Thursday against Bishop McDevitt.

WEST SHORE CHRISTIAN, NEW COVENANT CHRISTIAN 1>> The Flames worked to a 1-1 tie against CCAC West champion West Shore, but fell on a game-winner from Greg Conkle in the 52nd minute. New Covenant's Toby Kornhaus scored on an assists from David Hubbard in the 20th minute.
