FOOTBALL: Former Cocalico QB/DB Jhet Janis to suit up for Oregon


It was

reported at the end of last week

that 2014 Cocalico grad Jhet Janis will suit up for the Oregon Ducks football team as a preferred walk-on.

Janis committed to Oregon as a javelin thrower in late 2013 but will be bringing his talents back to the gridiron soon.

In his senior season, Janis rushed for 934 yards and 18 touchdowns as the Eagles dual-threat quarterback while throwing for 628 yards and 6 touchdowns.

With Janis under center, Cocalico went 9-1 in the regular season record and made a trip to the District 3 Class AAA semifinals.

Janis was also a playmaker on defense; racking up 49 tackles and 8 interceptions in 2013.
