Palmyra field hockey standout Jess Dembrowski announced on Twitter Friday that she has verbally committed to take her talents to the collegiate level at UConn.

A rising junior midfielder, Dembrowski helped the Cougars to a share of the PIAA Class AA state title last fall, contributing three goals and 21 assists in her sophomore campaign.

Also a basketball player and standout middle distance runner for Palmyra's track and field team, Dembrowski joins classmate and Palmyra goalie Cheyenne Sprecher in giving UConn an early commitment.

Dembrowski's older sister Katie is set to begin her freshman season with the Penn State field hockey team.
