SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Mechanicsburg slips past Palmyra, 6-4


The Palmyra softball team saw its three-game win streak halted with a 6-4 loss to Mechanicsburg in a Mid-Penn Keystone Division matchup at Palmyra Area High School on Tuesday.

Now 6-4 overall and 5-3 in the Keystone, the Cougars fell behind 2-0 after the first inning, and never fully recovered.

Mechanicsburg slugged a pair of home runs in the contest, offsetting the two hits apiece Bekah Sell and Kayla Bonawitz contributed to the Palmyra offense.

Cat Wicker added a double for the Cougars, who were outhit 10-8.

Anna Debellis and Kacey Stewart accounted for the lone hits for Cedar Crest, which fell to 4-7 overall and 3-7 in Section One.
