SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Northern Lebanon batters Columbia


The Northern Lebanon softball team put its hitting shoes on for Friday's matchup at Columbia.

The Vikings pounded out 17 hits in five innings en route to a 12-0 mercy rule victory on the Crimson Tide's home field.

Molly Mount led the attack with two triples and an RBI, and Cortney Hostetter was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Winning pitcher Nicole Ditzler added two hits and two RBIs, while tossing a five-inning two-hit shutout.

SOLANCO 6, CEDAR CREST 3 >> In Quarryville, the Falcons were doubled up by the Golden Mares after the hosts broke a 3-3 tie with a three-run sixth inning outburst.

Emma Spang doubled to account for the lone extra-base hit for Cedar Crest, which fell to 3-6 overall and in Section One.

MCCASKEY 11, LEBANON 1 >> At Stoevers Dam Park, the Cedars went down in six innings to fall to 1-10 overall and 0-9 in Section Two.

Lebanon was outhit 12-6 in the loss.
