Gelgot leads Crest girls at L-L swimming


Led by a superb all-around effort from senior Caitlyn Gelgot, the Cedar Crest girls swim team finished a strong fourth at Thursday night's Lancaster-Lebanon League meet at Lititz Rec Center.

Gelgot touched the wall in 53.86 seconds to place third in the 100 freestyle and also took fourth in the 50 free. In addition, she helped the Falcons to medal-winning finishes in the 200 medley, 400 free relays as Cedar Crest accumulated 48 team points during the meet, just two points fewer than third place Hempfield. Warwick cruised to the league title with 158 points and Manheim Township was second with 102.

Also grabbing individual medals for Cedar Crest were Krysta Weik (4th, backstroke, 8th, 200 IM), Camryn Vila (7th, butterfly).

The Falcons' 200 medley relay that took fourth was made up of Gelgot, Weik, Vila and Jadyn Bord, The 200 free relay that took sixth featured Bord, Megan Weik, Brianna Shay and Skylar Hanford, while the 400 free relay that placed fourth was the work of Gelgot, the Weiks and Bord.

Also earning a medal from Lebanon County was Northern Lebanon's Brookelle Anderson, fifth in the butterfly in 1:02.58.

The Cedar Crest boys will be in action Friday beginning at 7 p.m., when the L-L: boys meet gets underway back at Lititz Rec Center.
