GIRLS LACROSSE: Cedar Crest holds on at Central Dauphin , 13-11

@GameTimePA.com Leading from start to finish, the Cedar Crest girls lacrosse team (6-6) held on to beat host Central Dauphin Saturday in a non-league matchup. Senior Nikki Wagner, battling a strained MCL, netted five goals and sophomore teammate Abbey Castor added a hat trick. Taking efforts from Castor, Kayla Sanger and Lexi Eberle, all of whom played the entire game, the Falcons stayed competitive with draw controls and maintained a team-wide poise to seal their win.

"We knew they were a really quick team, so our goal was to dominate the midfield," Cedar Crest coach Emma Lebo said. "We really focused on maintaining our own possession ... and we had a lot of players pick up the slack and take care of business today."

Avery Stoddard recorded her first goal of the season and tallied one more for a game-high total of two, matching Falcons teammate Maddie Barron. Ahead 5-0 early, Cedar Crest surrendered a score to Rams' leading scorer Blair Schuyler (four goals). But while Central Dauphin eventually chipped away at its deficit, the Mid-Penn power could never overcome their visitors, who feel ready to get back on track now armed with wins in four of their last five and the hopeful return of injured senior Alex Rich.

"We knew we had to get out of our rut and get some wins going forward," Lebo said. "They have the skill, they have what it takes. And I think these last couple wins have really boosted their confidence. I was really proud today."
