Annville-Cleona trips Manheim Central

The Annville-Cleona girls basketball team has taken its lumps this season. On Friday night, A-C decided it was time to hand some out.

Behind a 12-5 run through the opening quarter and 11 points from Hannah Fischer, A-C notched win No.4 for the season with a 40-30 victory over Manheim Central on the Barons' home floor.

Now 4-11 overall and 3-8 in Section Four, A-C also got nine points from Meredith Bachman in the win, which came despite 6-for-17 free throw shooting.

Emma Beamesderfer led Central, which converted just 8-of-26 foul shots, with 11 points.

 Cocalico 49, Lebanon Catholic 42: In Denver, the Beavers' eight-game win streak was halted after they were outscored 18-3 in the third quarter to erase a 22-19 halftime lead.

Allie Warren led Catholic (11-4, 7-4) with 13 points and Neesha Pierre added 12 in a losing cause.

Emily White erupted for 27 points to pace Cocalico.

Northern Lebanon 53, Columbia 40: In Fredericksburg, the Vikings bounced back from Wednesday's loss to Lancaster Catholic behind 18 points from Megan Brandt.

Cassiah Ray added 12 points and Zoe Zerman chipped in with 11 as Northern Lebanon improved to 15-1 overall and 9-1 in Section Three.

 Elco 66, Lancaster Mennonite 30: In Lancaster, the red-hot Raiders continued to impress, routing Mennonite behind an 18-3 first quarter head start.

Winners of five straight, Elco (10-5, 7-4 Section Three) got points from 10 different players, led by Chandelle Keller's 11 points. Jalissa Nolt added 10 for Ashli Shay's Raiders.

Mount Calvary 53, New Covenant 30: In Elizabethtown, the Flames were outscored 14-4 in both the second and fourth quarters en route to the lopsided defeat.

New Covenant, led by 16 points from Kylie Murray, trailed just 11-10 after the first quarter before losing its grip on the contest in the second.

Lydia Ewing and Abigail Rutt led Mount Calvary with 19 points apiece.
