Lebanon Catholic wins 7th straight

The Lebanon Catholic girls basketball team continued its hot streak on Monday night, notching its seventh straight win by taking care of Donegal 63-47 in a Section Three-Four crossover in Mount Joy.

Now 11-3 overall and 6-3 in Section Four, Catholic got it done with extremely balanced scoring that put all five starters in double figures.

Neesha Pierre and Jayden Shellehamer led the way with 14 points apiece, Allison Warren added 13, Celine Mars hit for 12, and Mariah Sholly chipped in with 10 points as the Beavers jumped to a 26-15 halftime lead that grew to 44-25 after three quarters.

Cedar Crest 69, Garden Spot 33: In South Lebanon, the Falcons made short work of the overmatched Section Two reps behind 14 points apiece from Alyssa Austin and Ariel Jones.

Now 12-1 overall, 8-1 in Section One and winners of five straight, Cedar Crest exploded for 41 points in the first half on the way to the lopsided win.

Elco 66, Pequea Valley 43: In Myerstown, the improving Raiders won their third straight to move over the .500 mark in Section Three.

Now 7-5 overall and 5-4 in the section, Elco boasted a balanced attack that featured 12 points from Chandelle Keller and 10 apiece from Jalissa Nolt and Ryelle Shuey.

Hempfield 53, Lebanon 22: In Landisville, the Cedars saw their losing streak hit six games due in large part to the fact that they managed only five first-half points.

Lebanon (4-10, 3-6 Section Two) was again without Alexis Hill because of a back injury and was led by eight points from Jasmine Turner.
