Palmyra volleyball puts up fight in loss to top-seeded Manheim Central

They weren't supposed to win, and they didn't.

But before the Palmyra boys volleyball team saw the curtain come down on its 2017 season, it threw a little scare into top-seeded Manheim Central in a closer-than-it-looks 3-0 loss in the quarterfinals of District 3 2A playoffs on Monday night.

The Cougars, who end their season at 8-10, dropped the first set by a narrow 25-23 score, before falling in the last two by still close 25-21 margins.

The district playoff appearance was Palmyra's second straight in just three years as a varsity program. The Cougars defeated Fleetwood in the first round of the district tourney last Thursday.
