Falcons' Tull and Muriaka headed to District 3 semis

After day one of the District 3 doubles tournament at Hershey Racquet Club on Friday, only one Lebanon County duo remains alive for a district title. Cedar Crest's Nick Tull and Jackson Muriaka are heading to the Class AAA semifinals after securing two wins. They'll face Lower Dauphin's Josh Carl and Beck Wiles on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Falcon pair began the day cruising to a first-round victory over Palmyra's Ben Rusling and Eric Kohl, 6-0, 6-0. Things got a little tougher for Tull and Muriaka in the first set of their quarterfinals match with New Oxford's Joey Stiles and Josiah Forry, grinding out a 7-6 (6) win, but then blanked the Colonials pair in second set, 6-0, to move on.

In Class AA, Annville-Cleona's Julian DyReyes-Kapp and Santi Paris dropped their first-round match to Gettysburg's Adam Yingling and Zach Kiich 7-5, 6-4. Elco's Linden Bennetch and Mason Bennetch lost in their first round match to East Pennsboro's Greg Waznik and Gabe Petrovich, 6-0, 6-4.
