BOYS TENNIS: Cedar Crest's Muraika, Elco's Bahney earn L-L singles title shots.

Colin Muraika dashed his Cedar Crest tennis teammate Nick Tull's hopes of winning a Lancaster-Lebanon League singles title on Saturday with a hard-fought three-set semifinal win.

Luckily, Tull didn't hold it against him when it came time to team up for doubles.

Defending L-L AAA singles champ Muraika advanced to Monday's title match with a 6-0, 4-6, 6-1 semifinal win over Tull on Saturday at Conestoga Valley, then later joined forces with him to advance to the Flight One AAA doubles final, also set for Monday.

Elco's Adam Bahney and Galen McNaughton will also play for L-L championships on Monday after getting the job done in the Class AA bracket Saturday.

Bahney advanced to the Flight One AA singles final with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Lancaster Catholic's Patrick Cook, then teamed with McNaughton to earn a berth in the Flight One AA doubles final.

Muraika, who will meet Hempfield's Derek Hagino in the singles final, and Tull took a hard route to their doubles final, outlasting Manheim Township's Griffin Clark and Dan Ansel, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 12-10 in the semis. They'll take on Hagino and Calvin Athey in the championship bout.

Bahney and McNaughton, meanwhile, defeated Cook and Grant Conway 6-2, 6-2 to earn their doubles title shot. The two will face Lancaster Mennonite's William Wanner, who beat McNaughton in the singles semifinals, and Haemoon Won in the doubles championship match. Bahney and Wanner will also meet in the AA singles final.

Play begins at 4 p.m. Monday at Conestoga Valley.
