Roundup: Lebanon strengthens Section Two lead

The Cedars have bounced back.

Less than a week removed from a blowout loss at McCaskey and ensuing defeat to rival Cedar Crest, the Lebanon boys basketball team returned home to dispatch Conestoga Valley, 58-45, Tuesday in a critical Section Two showdown. Three Cedars registered in double figures, captained by Allan Escoto and his 16 points. Dante Vargas collected 14 and Shaq Ortiz scored a dozen.

Lebanon (12-5, 9-3 Lancaster-Lebanon) led by 21 after three quarters, pinning the Bucksins to five points in the third. The Cedars now hold a two-game lead in Section Two with four league contests remaining.

Northern Lebanon 55, Donegal 33: The Vikings (7-11, 3-9) left little mystery as to the finish of their second go-round with the Indians, dropping a 20-point quarter that effectively put their visitors to bed. Northern Lebanon has now won two straight. Alex Yeager topped all scorers with 11 points.

Mechanicsburg 67, Palmyra 56: Hampered by a poor shooting night, the Cougars (13-4, 6-4 Mid-Penn Keystone) watched their nine-game win streak snap at the hands of the Wildcats. Palmyra was held to 15 points at halftime and finished with five scorers. Isaac Blatt's 23 points stood as a game-high.
