Exeter upsets Penn Manor, 1-0 in district opener
Despite a dominant performance by Penn manor pitcher Jeff Taylor, the no. 2 seed Comets fell, 1-0 to Exeter in the first round of the District 3 Class AAAA baseball playoffs on Monday, May 23, 2016.

MILLERSVILLE- Penn Manor’s 2016 campaign came to a close on Monday after falling 1-0 to no. 15 seed Exeter in the first round of the District 3 Class AAAA baseball playoffs.
The Eagles plated their lone run in the top of the second inning when Jake Fry scored on a Penn Manor error in the outfield.
Despite taking the loss, Comets pitcher Jeff Taylor had a great day on the mound; racking up 14 strikeouts while allowing just two hits and one walk.
Meanwhile, Exeter pitcher Shaun O’Reilly had his own shining performance on the hill; one-hitting the Comets while striking out seven and walking one.
Exeter will now play the winner of Cumberland Valley and Waynesboro on Thursday at a site and time to be determined.
