Hempfield was able to avenge a bad 9-3 loss earlier in the season to Warwick by holding on to defeat the Warriors, 3-2 on Monday afternoon.

Hempfield third basemen Angel Colon took a hard groundball to the face early in Monday’s game but was able to re-enter and eventually make the game-ending double play when he snagged a line drive and tagged the bag when Warwick had the bases loaded and were threatening to take the lead.

The win improves Hempfield to 15-2, 12-2 and keeps them on pace with Penn Manor, 16-2, 12-2 in the Section One race. The Comets defeated McCaskey, 4-0 on Monday.
