Palmyra boys cruise past Cocalico


The Palmyra boys basketball team closed out the pre-Christmas portion of its schedule on Friday night, routing Cocalico 57-41 in a non-league contest at Palmyra Area High School.

Now 6-1, the Cougars took control of the contest in the first half, sprinting to a 19-8 first quarter lead that grew to 33-18 by intermission. Isaac Blatt led the way for Pete Conrad's club with 21 points, Bryant Willis added 12 and Braden Vernet chipped in with 10 points.

Cocalico 40, Palmyra 35 (OT)

In Denver, the Cougars let one slip away in overtime after leading at the end of each of the first three quarters.

Palmyra (5-3) was outscored 17-9 in the fourth quarter and overtime en route to defeat.

Patrick Mcateer had a hat trick to lead A-C, which jumped to a 3-0 lead after the first period and cruised home from there.

Palmyra 7, Warwick 1

Warwick scored 49 seconds into the game but it was all Palmyra from there thanks in part to a Sean Carter hat trick.

Cumberland Valley 7, Cedar Crest 1

Christian Hibshman scored the lone goal for Cedar Crest in the lopsided loss to CV.
