Game of the Day

Elco field hockey 2, McCaskey 1 (OT)

On Wednesday, the Elco field hockey team had to endure a Senior Day that ended with a county rival, Anville-Cleona, celebrating a section title on its home field.

Thursday, the Raiders were the ones doing the celebrating, albeit in Lancaster.

Kylie Stine scored 12-plus minutes into overtime to lift Elco to a 2-1 victory over McCaskey in its regular season finale matchup in Lancaster.

Emily Witmer assisted on Stine's game-winner, which gave Elco an 11-6-1 record to show for its regular season efforts, a mark that should give it a spot in the upcoming District 3-A playoffs.

Witmer also scored for the Raiders and Kendra Bicksler picked up the win in goal with 3 saves.

Player of the Day 

Eli Setlock, Annville-Cleona boys soccer

Setlock scored a natural hat trick in the second half to lead Annville-Cleona to a 5-1 win over Lancaster County Christian in a regular season finale matchup in Annville. The win gave the Dutchmen a final regular season record of 11-7.

Setlock scored his first goal 6:56 into the second half, his second with 8:36 left and completed the hat trick with 2:31 remaining.

Boys Soccer

Hempfield 6, Lebanon 0

Drew Johnson and Colby Smith had two goals apiece as the Black Knights rolled to the easy victory at Lebanon.

Hershey 4, Palmyra 1

At In The Net, the Cougars managed only a Sean Bordner goal while falling to 6-10-1.

Annville-Cleona 5, Lancaster County Christian 1

In addition to Setlock's hat trick, A-C got goals from Robert Enigk and Zachary Landis in the non-league win.

Field Hockey 

Central Dauphin East 5, Lebanon 0

In Harrisburg, Tatum Mosley scored a pair of goals to lead East to a shutout win over the Cedars.

Girls Soccer

Hempfield 3, Cedar Crest 1

In Landisville, the Falcons were eliminated from the Lancaster-Lebanon League playoff chase after the Black Knights jumped to a 3-0  lead and cruised home from there.

Ariel Jones accounted for the lone Cedar Crest goal with 5:19 left.

Mt. Calvary 7, New Covenant 0

In Ebenezer, the Flames fell in a 4-0 halftime hole en route to the lopsided defeat.

Girls Volleyball 

Cedar Crest 3, Conestoga Valley 0

In Witmer, Grace Miller had 18 kills and Brooklyn Varner contributed a staggering 35 assists as Cedar Crest solidified a likely district playoff berth by scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-16.

 Elco 3, New Covenant 0

Carli Sholl had 14 kills and Maddie Sweatlock added five blocks as the Raiders cruised to the win by scores of 25-23, 25-7 and 25-8.

Palmyra 3, Manheim Central 0 

Melanie Sheaffer stuffed the stat sheet with eight kills, seven digs, three aces, two blocks and an assist as the Cougars took care of the Barons in straight sets in this non-league encounter.

Lancaster Catholic 3, Lebanon 0

Aleishka Perez Silva had seven kills but it wasn't enough to keep the Cedars from being swept by the Crusaders.
