Game of the Day

Cedar Crest girls soccer 1, Warwick 0

The Cedar Crest girls soccer team has had its share of difficulties in close games this season. But not on Thursday night.

Under the lights in Lititz, the Falcons avoided such struggles this time, pulling out a 1-0 win on Bridgett Finn's unassisted goal with just 37 seconds left.

Cedar Crest triumphed despite being outshot 13-9 and on the short end of a 7-3 discrepancy in corner kicks.

Freshman goalie Courtney Wysokowski  picked up the win in goal, stopping 10 shots to earn the shutout.

Player of the Day

Bridget Finn, Cedar Crest girls soccer

You score a game-winning goal with under a minute left that breaks a scoreless tie you deserve to recognized for it.

And so it will be for Bridget Finn, who scored the game's lone goal with 37 seconds left to lift the Cedar Crest girls soccer team to a 1-0 win over Warwick on Thursday night. Finn's game-winner helped Cedar Crest improve to 6-5-1 overall and 4-3-1 in Section One.

Boys Soccer

Warwick 6, Lebanon 0

In Lititz, the Cedars were routed by the host Warriors in a night contest on the Warriors' home turf.

Field Hockey

Hershey 2, Palmyra 0

At Hershey, the Cougars endured a season sweep by their Mid-Penn Keystone rival, getting shut out by the Trojans for the second time this season.

After a scoreless first half, Mya Christopher put Hershey in front with 22:34 left, and Maddie Zimmer added some insurance with 7:22 to go as Hershey notched the win despite being outshot 6-3 and out-cornered 11-5.

Girls Soccer

Conestoga Valley 2, Palmyra 0

Two second half Buckskin goals did the Cougars in. Gianna Yurchak got CV on the board 11 minutes into the second half with an unassisted goal, then Emma Weirich added an insurance goal with just under four minutes remaining.

Volleyball

Cedar Crest 3, McCaskey 0

After surviving a tough first set win 25-20, the Falcons cruised the rest of the way with 25-14 and 25-12 wins in the second and third sets, respectively. Grace Miller had eight kills and 12 digs, while Brooklyn Varner had 20 assists and Amy Johns recorded nine aces.

Palmyra 3, Shippensburg 0

The Cougars made short work of Ship, rolling to victory by scores of 25-5, 25-12 and 25-20 to remain unbeaten in the Mid-Penn Keystone Division.

LeAnne Baker led the way for Palmyra with 2 kills, 12 digs, 1 ace and 1 block.

Lebanon 3, New Covenant 0

The Cedars pulled off the sweep of their Lebanon County neighbors, winning by scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-23 with the help of 6 kills and 5 digs from Aleishka Perez Silva. Kaylani Ayala added 7 aces and 5 blocks for the Cedars and Maggie Hinkel checked in with 18 assists.

Northern Lebanon 3, Lititz Christian 0

Even though the Vikings got the sweep, Litiz Christian didn't go down without a fight, as NL took each set 25-22, 25-21, and 26-24, respectively. Cassidy Shirk recorded 14 assists, while Madison Hetrick had seven aces, and Brianna Hossler had 22 assists.
