Game of the day

Palmyra boys lacrosse 18, CD East 0

The Palmyra boys lacrosse game has had its share of close games this season. Tuesday's matchup with CD East wasn't one of them.

The Cougars enjoyed a respite from such contests Tuesday by blowing out the Panthers behind five goals from Jared Richard.

Ethan Gain added four goals and Peter Robertson chipped in with three scores in the lopsided win, which saw Palmyra jump to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and continue to pour it on from there.

Gain and Eric Thomas chipped in with two assists apiece, and Anthony Bressi made five saves in net to pick up the shutout.

Player of the day

Jared Richard, Palmyra boys lacrosse

As noted above, Palmyra had a big day on Tuesday, and Richard was a big reason for that, leading a prolific Cougar offense with five goals and also adding an assist.

Richard led an attack that counted eight different goal scorers and nine different assist men.

Boys Lacrosse

Cedar Crest 14, Cocalico 8

Mike Weaver slammed home four goals and added two assists to lift the Falcons past the Eagles.

Colin May and Stevie Roda contributed three goals apiece to the win, and John Lux and Mitch Tice each scored twice.

Girls Lacrosse

Palmyra 9, CD East 7

The Cougars jumped to a 7-3 lead and held on for the win with the help of four goals from Cheyenne Sprecher.

Paige Frye, Hailey Ebersole, Kiley Gallagher, Katelyn Mark, and Nikki Bowman also scored for Palmyra, which enjoyed a 28-16 advantage in shots on goal.

Cocalico 19, Cedar Crest 12

In South Lebanon, the Falcons surrendered 13 second-half goals on the way to the setback.

Maddie Barron led Cedar Crest in defeat with four goals and Riley Blatt added three scores to the offense.

Boys Volleyball

Ephrata 3, Lebanon 0

Cameron Gooden's five kills were a bright spot as the Cedars were routed by scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-19.

Manheim Twp. 3, Cedar Crest 0

The Falcons were swept in this one, but put up quite a fight in a 30-28 loss in the first set, before dropping the last two by 25-16 scores.

Nick Rivera led Cedar Crest with seven kills, and Jon Simpson added eight assists.
