Elco baseball 3, Annville-Cleona 2

The Raiders held off a late rally from the Little Dutchmen to give coach Chris Weidner his 200th career win. With Elco up 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Annville-Cleona cut the deficit to one but wouldn’t come any closer.

Cole Blatt led Elco at the dish, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Aaron Dietz and Nate Hostetter also recorded an RBI each. Tyler Price earned the win going six innings, allowing 2 runs on two hits, and two walks, while fanning seven.

Players of the day

Mike Weaver and Hunter Craig, Cedar Crest lacrosse

Both Weaver and Craig recorded an eight-point night in the Falcons big win over Ephrata. Weaver recorded a hat trick and five assists, while Craig finished with four goals and four assists.

Baseball

Solanco 2, Cedar Crest 1

The Golden Mules scored two runs in the fourth inning to double up the Falcons.

Cocalico 13, Lebanon Catholic 3

At 5th Ward, the Beavers remained winless after dropping the Section Three-Four crossover contest to the Eagles.

Lebanon 3, Lancaster Catholic 0

Michael DeLeon pitched a two-hitter to lead the Cedars, striking out seven while allowing three walks. Lebanon took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning, then added an insurance run in the sixth.

Palmyra 6, Mechanisburg 3

The Cougars’ Evan Hallowell accounted for the majority of the Cougars offense, going 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI. Isaac Blatt earned the win, allowing three runs, all earned, eight hits, and one walk, while striking out six in a complete game. The Cougars improve to 7-5 overall and 5-5 in Mid-Penn Conference play.

Softball

 McCaskey 13, Lebanon 10 

The Cedars remained without a win but went down swinging in this slugfest loss to the Red Tornado.

Cocalico 18, Lebanon Catholic 0 (3 innings)

The Eagles wasted no time taking control, scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the first to force the mercy rule and taking advantage of 10 Beaver errors.

Solanco 3, Cedar Crest 2

Trailing 3-0 after five, the Falcons' rally in the sixth and seventh innings fell just short, scoring only a run in each frame. Ashley Maulfair led Cedar Crest at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, while Maddie Gable finished 2-for-3 at the dish.

Boys Tennis

 Palmyra 3, East Pennsboro 2

Eric Kohl and Eric Lynn led the Cougars with wins in their No. 2 and No. 3 singles matches, respectively. Kohl defeated the Black Panthers’ Greg Waznik, 6-2, 6-4, and Lynn grinded out a win over East Pennsboro’s Shaun Manatt, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0. Adam Lerro and Quinn Marcus clinched the match for Palmyra with a 6-1, 6-1 win over the Black Panthers’ Nate Stahlman and Tyle Hamilton. The Cougars are now tied with the Black Panthers for first place in the Mid-Penn Conference Colonial Division.

Girls Lacrosse

Ephrata 9, Cedar Crest 8

A five-point night from Maddie Barron wasn't enough as the Falcons fell short in South Lebanon. Barron recorded a hat trick and two assists. Abbey Castor and Callie Bernard both recorded two goals as well for Cedar Crest.

Boys Lacrosse

Cedar Crest 18, Ephrata 7

The Falcons took control of this one early with 14 goals in the first half. Mike Weaver and Hunter Craig each had big nights to lead the Falcons. More on their nights above. John Lux recorded a hat trick as well. Cedar Crest also dominated Ephrata in shots, 57-28.

Boys Volleyball

Palmyra 3, Carlisle 0

The Cougars swept past the Thundering Herd by scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-15 with the help of five kills apiece from Tanner Yaw, Ben Rusling and Mike Hall.
