Elco baseball 5, Pequea Valley 2

It wasn't perfect. But it got the job done.

The Raiders returned to the win column Monday after a three-game losing streak, captained by a strong effort from starter Cole Blatt, who worked without his top stuff. Blatt struck out three and issued five walks, but knocked in a run from the plate to go with Hunter Witters' three RBIs. Cole Miller went 2-for-3, and every Elco defender went without an error.

"We came out to get something back, to get back on track," Raiders assistant coach Mike Simmons said. "We did some positive things at the plate, and Blatt did grind out a win. It was good to get back on a roll."

Elco's soonest chance to continue that roll comes Wednesday at home against Columbia and then a Friday road trip to see county rival Annville-Cleona.

Hunter Long, Annville-Cleona baseball

Long went 2-for-2 and clubbed a home run in a Little Dutchmen win over Manheim Central. Long also caught all seven innings of the 6-2 triumph, teaming with starter Eli Setlock for five frames and then reliever Tyler Schrader. The senior catcher finished with a team-high two RBIs out of the No. 3 hole in Annville-Cleona's lineup.

Lebanon 14, Lebanon Catholic 3

Three triples and 12 recorded strikeouts highlighted a convincing Cedars' road victory at Fifth Ward. Cam Shaak earned the win and Danny Caricabeur whiffed four Beavers in relief. Catcher Cody Kissinger went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and three runs scored. Michael Deleon knocked in three runs.

Annville-Cleona 6, Manheim Central 2

The Little Dutchmen never trailed in a big home win during crossover action. Eli Setlock earned the win before handing the ball off to Tyler Schrader, who notched a two-out save. Annville-Cleona snapped a two-game losing streak.

Lancaster Catholic 5, Northern Lebanon 4

The Vikings stood on the wrong end of a walk-off in Lancaster, despite tagging Crusaders starter Shawn Henry for three early runs. Northern Lebanon led by one heading into the final frame and received six strikeouts from starter Isaac Wengert.

Lampeter-Strasburg 4, Cedar Crest 0

Falcons senior Brett Bawiec tossed a handsome game from the hill, but the Cedar Crest bats were kept quiet in road crossover play. Cedar Crest returns to the diamond Wednesday for its only home game of the week.

Softball

Northern Lebanon 14, Lancaster Catholic 2 (5 innings)

Nicole Ditzler's two-hitter and eleven hits of their own propelled the Vikings to a huge home win. Ditzler struck out six Crusaders. Every run in this game was earned.

Pequea Valley 10, Elco 0 (6 innings)

The Raiders were one-hit at home, as Sarah Yermalovich took the loss. Elco returns to the diamond Tuesday at Cocalico.

Manheim Central 5, Annville-Cleona 0

In Manheim, Madison Walter completed a home shutout to zip past the Little Dutchmen. Annville-Cleona is now 1-2 in crossover play.

Palmyra 9, Susquehanna Twp. 1

The Cougars mustered only five hits, but it was enough to leave Harrisburg with a key division win. Five runs in the fifth inning opened up a then 2-1 game for Palmyra. Rebecca Randall and Abbey Krahling each collected a pair of RBIs.

Lampeter-Strasburg 21, Lebanon Catholic 0 (3 innings)

Another tough loss for the Beavers featured 13 Pioneers hits and a 17-run second frame. Lebanon Catholic also committed four errors.

Boys Tennis

Manheim Twp. 5, Cedar Crest 2

Falcons freshman Jack Muraika pulled off a shutout in the No. 2 singles match and teamed with Nick Tull for an 8-5 doubles win. Both Tull and Evan Dissinger went to super tiebreakers in their respective singles matches.

Donegal 6, Annville-Cleona 1

A trip to Mount Joy ended sadly for the Little Dutchmen, as Santi Paris' 6-0, 6-0, triumph was A-C's only on the day.

Elizabethtown 6, Lebanon 1

The lone Cedars victory belonged to Luke Foster, who topped Conner Babinck 7-5, 6-1. Lebanon dropped to 2-10 on the season.

Lancaster Catholic 6, Northern Lebanon 1

Devin Tipton's 3-6, 6-4 (10-7) triumph was the long bright spot for the Vikings, who failed to win a single set outside of Tipton's match.

Palmyra 4, Bishop McDevitt 1

The Cougars improved to 10-3 overall, easing to a road win in Harrisburg. Ben Rusling, Eric Kohl and Eric Lynn all won in singles, while Adam Lerro and Quinn Marcus produced a 6-2, 7-5 finish in doubles.

Boys Lacrosse

Hempfield 19, Cedar Crest 4

The Falcons scored one goal in every quarter and fell behind 9-1 after the first. Stevie Roda netted two goals, and Cedar Crest goalies Liam Nieman and Tyler Beard faced 58 total shots.

Girls Lacrosse

Hempfield 15, Cedar Crest 9

An upset bid was within the Falcons' grasp, but an 8-7 halftime lead did not last in Landisville. Abbey Castor pieced together a hat trick, while Riley Blatt secured two goals and two assists.

Boys Track

Annville-Cleona 87, Donegal 63

Senior Matt Light dominated in the field events, taking the long jump, triple jump and javelin with a throw of 169-9. Stanley Miller swept the 200 and 400 races for the Little Dutchmen.

Manheim Twp. 94, Cedar Crest 56

The Falcons suffered their second loss overall and in league competition during a home meet. Evan Horn won the long jump and the javelin.

Northern Lebanon 101, Columbia 49

In Fredericksburg, Dakota Leonard took first place in the javelin and shot put, firing 167-11 and 52-3.5, respectively.

Elco 122, Lancaster Catholic 28

Raiders senior Colton Lawrence swept all three jumps and ran in a victorious 4x400 relay race on a dominant day for Elco.

 Solanco 82, Lebanon 68

The Cedars dropped a close one, despite a double win from Juan Maldonado in the 100 meters and the triple jump.

Girls Track

Donegal 89.66, Annville-Cleona 60.33

Reagan Hess won the 100-meter dash and the long jump and anchored the winning 400-meter relay team but it wasn't enough to keep A-C from its first Section Three loss.

Manheim Twp. 81, Cedar Crest 69

The Falcons were dominated on the track, but kept it close in the field, thanks in part to wins by Ariel Jones in the high jump and long jump.

Elco 84, Lancaster Catholic 65

Chandelle Keller picked up three wins (high hurdles, triple jump and javelin) to lead the Raiders to the Section Three win over the Crusaders.

Solanco 111, Lebanon 38

The Cedars were routed by the Golden Mares in this Section Two encounter, but got another win in the triple jump from Maddy Hartman.

Northern Lebanon 86, Columbia 58

Taylor Berger won the 100 dash and the pole vault to lift the Vikings over the Crimson Tide.

Boys Volleyball

Governor Mifflin 3, Cedar Crest 0

The Falcons nearly nabbed a win in the final set, but fell 25-21 after twelve and eight-point defeats in previous sets. Cedar Crest's Jon Simpson recorded 16 assists and Mark Johns smashed eight kills.

Palmyra 3, CD East 1

The Cougars broke from a 0-1 deficit by taking the final three sets to end a three-game losing skid. Tyler Sheaffer led Palmyra in aces with two and assists with 16. Evan Aftosmes recorded nine blocks.
